This past week had been hell for me in the mornings (and on some evenings as well). It's a choice between getting up at @$%$@%&!@# 6AM, being manhandled in the MRT or walking a mile under the scorching sun. No choice is better than the other actually and that has been a problem for me since our office moved to a new @$%$@%&!@# location. I think I have used up all the cuss words I've ever known every time I get to my cubicle.Don't get me wrong. The new office is very nice. We have got a pantry, a library, a clinic, a training room, meeting rooms, lounge rooms etc in it. Very appropriate for the reputation our company keeps but when I get outside of it, I would suddenly wish to be Dorothy from 'The Wizard of Oz', click my red heels and close my eyes hoping that when I open them I'd be back to the old office where everything is very much at arms' reach.
Ok, I know that my old office isn't really perfect. We are almost packed in our area like sardines. We have vermins and roaches for unofficial officemates (which make themselves felt as heard from occasional screams and squeals of my official officemates lol). We have ugly furnitures haha. But the thing is it was inside a mall. Everything you could ever need is just a step outside the office. Whatever weather it is, it doesn't matter coz everything is just there. When we are hungry, we just choose what resto/fastfood to go and eat in. When I have bills to pay, I just have a quick trip to the bills counter. When I have to do a little research on work, I go to the bookstores and find good ideas. When I have to buy some stuff, I just whisked myself away on my free time. When I needed cash, I just withdraw at the nearest ATM machine. And well, there is always Crowne Plaza for extra-curriculars lmaoooo~ You know, this list can go on and on and on and on. Call me a negastar but a week in the new office and I'm still in great denial! And it didn't help that we are one of the early tenants of the building (read: quite isolated). That the nearest mall is somewhat useless and so not fun. That I am sitting below the aircon and the thermostat seem not working (so it's like Antartica in my place and Im feeling Id be growing fur soon lol). That I pay double now riding a cab to get home. That I have to walk to the pantry just to eat a biscuit. Ok, ok I'll stop now or I'd be coined the 'SUPER NEGASTAR' next. Im just saying I love the new office but I soooo hate where the new office is at. So heaven help me these following days....weeks....months....years (O.O) *dithers chews on her nails in anxiety*
